Hatebreed and Godly Men

hatebreed.jpg

The band hatebreed is a Hardcore band thats been around awhile. They are looked at as sort of pioneers of american hxc today.

Their music is very powerful and positive. They are not a christian band, but I would highly recommend checking them out.

They are an example, I think, of what christian men should be like. Christian men need to rise up and be manly. Like Jesus. The church is so full of feministic christianity it’s sickening. Men, we need to wake up and lead like God has called us to. Be a man, grow up, take your bible like a sword and charge into battle.

Everytime I see or hear this band it reminds me about the lack of good, strong christian men.

To the threshold. The imagery in this video is really powerful and freaking awesome. It charges me up everytime!

Just imagine if these guys were on our team! (if they were christians)

So true…how many times do I see our believes and religeon being trampled on. We as christian men should rise to the honour of God and fight for His holy name. Amen

Hatebreed is a very awesome band. They don’t really mention God but if you notice in Perseverance you’ll hear lines like ’struggles with faith’, ‘virtues you possess now bring eternal pain (your life of sin is catching up to you, maybe?)’, ‘contempt for a life you can’t obtain (IMO that sounds like feeling angry because you can’t find yourself to walk in God’s footsteps)’, ‘you can’t accept what you’ve been told, anchored in sin you must reverse your descent’ (traditional Christianity has been perverted to where people actually believe they can enter heaven with ‘blood on their hands’ so to speak. If they haven’t turned away from their sins how can their slate remain clean?) Oh and in To The Threshold Jamey has a line where he says ‘decimating all uncertainty, bowing to only who can place judgment upon me (God)’

Ditto. They are very inspiring. My favs…

I also agree that men need to stand up and present a strong Christian image. In these times it is especially important for men in the 20-45 yr old range.

I agree. they are very positive and awesome.
I’m Catholic, and I’ll be damned if I let someone parade around spitting on my beliefs.

Hatebreed lyrics are inspiring for just about anyone and can be applied to almost any situation; I feel that this is why they appeal to such a wide audience (Christian, atheist, flying spaghetti monster, etc.).

I agree that Christian men AND women need to be strong, not ashamed to admit their faith – wearing Christ on their sleeve.

But battle? I pray not. Jesus stood his ground. He was ridiculed, spat on, and (not to mention) CRUCIFIED! Let them spit on our beliefs. All we can do is pray that God forgives those who spit on and ridicule us. The day of judgment is near.

We should battle! Jude said to contend earnestly for the faith. The word ‘earnestly’ there denotes, fighting to the point of agony, for good sound doctrine. The context was to battle, or fight for good, sound doctrine. So we need to do some battling. I think thats where the church often fails. It has become so limp-wristed it’s pathetic. Paul uses language like “fight the good fight”. Christians so quickly take the pacifistic role, when the bible calls men of God to be strong (1Cor.16:13). It’s jut sad how the church is really headed by a more feminine touch. Thank God for the women, but God set man to be the head, leadership, the fathers, the role models. And sadly the men are so turned-off by a lack of masculinity in the church.

Thanks for the input. I’m a relatively new Christian who started reading the Bible in February; I starting with the New Testament and am almost through Revelations.

Maybe I should rephrase my thoughts. I was thinking theSkill (see above) interpreted your “battle” mention as “physical battle,” which would not include the “love your neighbor as yourself” command.

Our preacher and pastor friends are pretty good at getting men to be men, so I’m thankful and blessed for that.

We should stand up for the truth and remain brave in the face of ungodly men. Physically, we should remain pacifistic.

Awesome. Well, there is time to be physical. God has given me a beautiful family. I have a 3 month old daughter and if a thief broke into my home, im not going to stand there and pray him out, im going to beat him out or shoot him in the kneecap. God has given me a family to love, cherish and also protect. Think about Jesus, He came to the temple, saw the christians buying and selling and making a profit in the house of God(John 2:15). Jesus got pissed! It says He braided a whip outside the temple and then went in and drove the people out. Jesus was getting pretty physical. Something to think about.

    thanks for your comments brother.

That is awesome about your salvation. Thank God for you. If you need anything man, just hit me up.

I didn’t think about that. Ever see the gospel of John movie? It does a great job at depicting that verse. You’re spot on, man.

    Thanks again for your thoughts.

Keep up the good work on the blog. You’re getting pretty high search results in Google. I was searching to see if anyone thought some Hatebreed lyrics sounded slightly Christian (or could be interpreted that way at least), and I found you in the top 5.

PS: I would beat the hell out of a burglar too. There’s actually an old wooden baseball bat in our bedroom.
